Hosting Account Backup Guide

eBuyHosting.com Data Backup Policy: We take daily backup of the entire server, which is only usable to restore the server to an earlier state incase of software or hardware crash. This backup cannot be used to recover a single account data or files. So all clients are advised to maintain a current local copy of their files in the event backups are irretrievable for any reason. We cannot guarantee full, or even partial, recovery of data from a bug-ridden/compromised system, but will work to the limit of their abilities to restore data, based on defined policy and procedure.

So it is highly advisable you take regular backups of all your hosting accounts and keep a local copy of the backup at your system.

Step by Step guide on how to take Full Account Backup through cPanel Control Panel

  1. Login to the cPanel Control Panel for your Web Hosting Account.
  2. Click on Backups icon under Files section.
  3. On next page, click on Download or Generate a Full Website Backup button under Full Backup.
  4. Select Home Directory under Backup Destination and click on Generate Backup button to start the backup process.
  5. Once your account backup is complete, you would receive an email about it.
  6. Now login to the cPanel Control Panel again and click on Backups icon.
  7. On next page, click on Download or Generate a Full Website Backup button under Full Backup.
  8. On next page, you will be able to see all the Full Account Backup files that you have generated.
  9. Click the backup file link under Backups Available to Download to download a copy to your local system.
  10. Once the download is complete, kindly save the backup file in a safe and secure place.
IMPORTANT: Once you download the backup to your local system, kindly remove the backup file from the server immediately.
This is necessary for security reasons, and should not be avoided. You may delete the file easily through FTP or cPanel File Manager.
